July 4, 1776 was the day that the most treasured document, The Declaration of Independence, was announced. The Declaration of Independence stated its claim that the 13 colonies were separating from England and its rule. In the document it stated reasons why the separation was necessary from the mother country. The first sentence of the Declaration of Independence “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature 's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation” laid down the foundation for the entire well thought out and written document that would led to the birth of a new America. In the entire document the Second Continental Congress was trying to convey that it was then “necessary” to become independent and no longer fall victim to England’s cruel treatment. Why the need for separation? One reason for sure was that England was unfairly taxing the American colonist; which went towards the English Empire. The harsh and unfair taxes were just being thrown at America from England. The fact that they didn’t have fair representation present when the taxes were passed enraged the American colonist. “A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people” as it reads in the “Nations most cherished symbol of Liberty” seems to be a direct reflection of the poor ruler and his government. The lack of compassion that England had on America was ultimately the reason England treated America so unfairly and the reason for the
