They took into account the reasons presented by the school uniform advocates and the opponents of the school uniform. They investigated the relationship between uniforms and attendance, behavioral problems, substance use, and academic achievement which were represented by the uniform proponents’ claims. By testing the logic of the claims made by the advocates of school uniforms, they found no effects of uniforms on attendance and behavior. On the contrary, they found a negative effect on student academic achievement by tenth graders that were forced to wear uniforms. The study was useful because it provides statistical evidence; however, one might have a tendency to become caught up in the statistical details. The study was also helpful because it talked about both sides of the topic, but focused on the claims made by the advocates for school
