Gun control has been a topic of discussion for years, but lately gun control has spurred up a lot of discussion with all the shootings. Control politics have been around since America was born into a nation. The second amendment is dedicated to guns. It is the right to bear arms. With the recent controversy with guns, local and state/national have been trying to set their own laws. They both are fighting for power over power to control guns. They both have taken each other to court and have made laws that overpower the other. Both body of governments wants what is best for the people, and they will fight for that right. Should local authorities have the power to regulate gun control laws or just state/national governments? The need for guns come long ago when men has to learn to use guns to survive. Without guns those men would have not been able to hunt or fight for their land. Back when the Americas was just being developed, weapons were the main source of independence from foreign armies and neighbors. At this time there were no laws, since guns were everyone 's personal protection. In 1791, The bill of rights was passed which included the second amendment “the right to bear arms.” In 1813, Kentucky tried to pass laws which limited guns, but the second amendment did not allow that.
