The Prince declares to the city, “For never was a story of more woe/ Than this of Juliet and her Romeo”(5.3.309-310). The Romance of Romeo and Juliet has unexplainable amounts of love that they offer each other. This play had a great deal of sorrow throughout it, and many influential people affected the play’s outcome. In William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, the actions of Friar Lawrence, Capulet, and the Nurse made these characters at fault for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
Friar Lawrence is one of the people who was responsible for Romeo and Juliet deaths because he becomes overly involved in their problems. For example, when Romeo told Friar Lawrence about Juliet and him being in love, Friar offered to marry them because

To start off, Capulet is talking to paris about him marrying Juliet, and Capulet tells him to go ahead and marry her not even bothering to talk to Juliet about her feelings towards paris. Capulet says to Paris,” And too soon marred are those so early made./ Earth hath swallowed all my hopes but she./ She’s the hopeful lady of my Earth./ But woo her, gentle Paris get her heart”( 1.2.13-16). Capulet doesn’t seem to care about Juliet’s happiness, for if he cared he wouldn’t of told paris to marry Juliet without confronting her about the marriage. Capulet was not caring about Juliet’s happiness and continues not to in the future, leading to many problems that eventually result in death. In addition, Capulet tells Paris that Juliet will marry him. Capulet says he will force Juliet to marry Paris. Capulet shares with paris,” Of my child’s love I think she will be ruled/ In respects by me”(3.4.13-14). In the beginning of the play, Capulet cares if Juliet gets married. Now he doesn’t care at all about who she marries, he just wants her to marry no matter what it takes. Capulet not caring leads to problems between him and his daughter, later resulting in bigger problems. Lastly, Capulet tells Juliet he will disown her, unless she marries Paris. Capulet says to Juliet,” I tell thee what: get thee to church o’ Thursday,/ or never after look me in the face./ …show more content…
Firstly, Nurse is talking to Juliet with lady Capulet about marriage. Nurse is getting Juliet to think about marriage to young; she is telling her that Paris is a wonderful young man and he wants to marry her. Nurse says to Juliet about Paris, “ A man, young lady! Lady, such a man/ As all the world. Why, he’s a man of wax” (1.3.77-78). If Nurse didn’t get Juliet thinking about marriage, Juliet wouldn’t have even considered marriage and love. If Juliet wasn 't thinking about love and marriage she probably wouldn’t have fallen in love and wouldn’t have wanted to marry Romeo so fast. Therefore, their deaths probably not happening. In addition, when Juliet tells Nurse about wanting to marry Romeo, Nurse helps them marry and keeps the marriage a secret from everyone else. Nurse tells the news to Juliet, “ They’ll be in scarlet straight at any news./ Hie you to church. I must another way/ To fetch a ladder, by the which your love/ Must climb a bird’s nest soon when it is dark”(2.5.70-73). Nurse helps marry them privately, and if that were not to have happened the marriage would not have happened. If the marriage wouldn’t have took place the problems leading to Romeo and Juliet 's death would not have happened, therefore resulting in no deaths.     Throughout the play, the audience sees Lord Capulet’s change from a selfless man to a selfish one. When Paris comes to Lord Capulet and asks for Juliet’s hand, Lord Capulet claims that he is not in a hurry to marry her off. Each parental figure shows weaknesses in their character and combined they each play a significant and highly influential role upon Romeo and Juliet's deaths. Certain characters are more to blame for the lover's deaths. The two characters who are the most to blame are Lord Capulet and Friar Lawrence; Lord Capulet for his domineering, uncompromising and relentless personality and Friar Lawrence for his over ambitious plan which fails. It is these two characters that are combined which have the worst affect on Romeo and Juliet and regardless of how well intentioned or well meaning they were they never fulfilled their duties competently.
