No, we do not want that. This is a slope, a real slope where we are going to become God. We do not have that power.” (Tom Coburn, 1999) In fact, none of our nation’s founding documents identify the “right” to die as a protected right. America has increasingly begun to soften death. Instead of identifying death by its name, we settle with people “passing on” or “losing” someone. Continuing with Death with Dignity further softens death rather than making it be seen as what it is, something to be taken seriously and to be determined by God. There is a firm difference between killing someone and letting someone die. In a typical world, doctors let people die, albeit not on purpose. In a world with physician assisted suicide, the doctors are the people doing the killing. This means we are turning men and women into glorified murderers who get payed to kill our loved ones. Death should not be an option, and giving the option to kill legally and “safely” glorifies such acts. The right to die discounts those who do not have the option because they do not meet the proper criteria or their state does not allow it and people who are very sick and don’t believe in this “right.” With the goal of America being equality, eliminating the right to die is the most beneficial way to achieve such equality. This is the only way to return proper conservative values to America rather than allowing the rapid liberalization to continue. Natural death is an important part of life, and the right to die removes that.
Liberal politicians and doctors argue that DWDA and the Right to Die gives people a right to choose – and this argument often bolsters their cause. However, the right to choose can meaning making the wrong choice. Society
