The doorway opens in walked the pastor, behind him is a family. A mother walked quietly behind a pastor with tears rolling down her face. Exhausted and tired of making funeral arrangements for her son. There are beautiful flowers and a fancy coffin in front of the stage. The church is decorated with plants and flowers to honor the son that passed away. Two gentlemen stood in front of the coffin and started shutting down the coffin slowly. The mother started crying loud, and other family members cried too. The closing of the coffin felt like the son was saying good-bye. It is a sad day; the atmosphere was surreal. King Mufasa stated that death is the circle of life. Even Elton John wrote a song regarding the circle of life. The movie shows how King Mufasa is preparing his son for his death. He did that by stating that one day the sun will set on him, meaning one day he will die. Everyone agrees that death is part of life. Nevertheless, people see different emotions when someone passes, from angry, pain and sorrow. Many experts said that this was a normal process. However, if death is a part of life, why does a person cry at a funeral? Epictetus expresses it best with one of the selections in his article, From The Handbook, "People are not disturbed by what happens but by the view they take of what happens, death is not terrible, for if it were it would have seemed so to Socrates," (787). In other words, it is not what happen to a person, but how that person handles the situation. Epictetus believes that the reaction of a person is more important than the event itself. Death was the example he used to make his point. Many people believe if they know the reason behind the death, then acceptance of death, will be easier. That type of thought process will not help a person 's grief. Regardless if the deceased died suddenly due to a car accident or long term illness, the emotion at a funeral is all the same, sad, grief and crying. To embrace death, a person must embrace life.
