Although it will not allow the victim to come back to life it is a necessary punishment to kill the person who killed another person. It is the ultimate justice for the family as they had one of their loved ones killed so they should get to watch the killer of their loved one die. It offers a little bit of closure for the family of the victim because the killer had to eventually pay for the crime and be put to death. This is a common fairness issue. If I punch you then you will punch me back so the same concept should be applied towards death. If you kill someone you should have to die yourself.The death penalty is needed because it saves lives, avoids prison violence, and serves justice. A person is less likely to kill someone if they realize the consequence of their action would be death which saves lives. Prisoners would be put on Death Row far from the general population which would stop violence towards other prisoners. It also serves justice for the family of the victim to watch their killer die from the crime he committed.
