The Death Penalty and Why It Should Stand With More Heinous Ways of Death The death penalty has been looked down upon by humanitarians for a long time. There is no real problem with it, however. The problem with the death penalty is the method of execution. There have been many styles that a prisoner may be executed in across the short span of U.S. history. Some of the more familiar styles or methods would be known as: hanging, firing squad, electrocution, the gas chamber, and lethal injection. The death penalty has always been used as a deterrent. However, it sometimes does not work as a deterrent, for example lethal injection as it does not scare anyone, for it is not brutal and there are no victims of it who die convulsing and struggling as …show more content…
Now back in those times if you stole a man’s horse, well your neck would have probably been stretched. If criminals were hung today for theft, not necessarily of a horse and depending upon the nature of the case decides the punishment, there might just be less stealing and thieving from one another and help make America a great country again. If a man is down on his luck and has a family and his children are hungry, he should not be hung for petty theft trying to feed his kids from the unlawfully acquired profits, but if a man of high caliber and wealth decides to steal an apple then the jury should call the hangman. After all there is a right and wrong and a lesser of two evils in this world and it is pretty clear and obvious which of those may be considered right or wrong or more correctly as which is a lesser of two evils. When a man intentionally breaks the law and knows he is doing more bad than good then he should face off into the emptiness that the world has left him and he should be dropped and left to hang until he is dead. If people ever finally understand this point then the world will be much better off under the rule of the iron
