I quickly found a mentor in one of my attending physicians and enjoyed working with him because he was the first doctor with whom I worked with, who seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. His breadth of knowledge and his enthusiasm inspired me, displaying to me that internal medicine required the integration of many other disciplines which fascinated me. This made it intellectually stimulating so that it never became stale. I enjoyed beginning a case with a blank slate, working up an initial assessment of the patient, and then deciding which specialists to consult. Being a primary health investigator is a rewarding challenge that I embrace, and I look forward to the opportunity to facilitate teamwork among my fellow physicians, nurses, physician assistants and associated medical …show more content…
I have built a broad base of medical knowledge which is reflected in my USMLE scores and have learned how to apply that knowledge in a clinical setting. Throughout my interaction with physicians, residents, and staff I believe my temperament is a good match for the field. I remain calm and focused under pressure while welcoming new challenges.
