The story takes place in Australia, as a father goes out hooting kangaroos with his son, into the bush in the morning. By shooting kangaroos, the boy is supposing that he will become an individual, a man. The boy shoots around 4-5 kangaroos, but he does not feel like he has become a man, as the boy has thought. As he pulls the trigger, expecting a feeling of pride, he develops a feeling of emptiness and disappointment instead. For the boy, everything is happening too fast and he cannot comprehend it.
