We have more than five thousand manuscripts handwritten copies of the New Testament. Many very early and some of them in a few decades of when they were written which is by far early than any ancient works of literature. A few of the New Testament books were written on parchment and rolled into scrolls. However, the church soon began using paper made from papyrus reeds grown in swampy areas (Towns, pg. 20). The amount of evidence that we have to compare to other ancient works is one of the things that is called data it's hard evidence I don’t think no one ever disagree with that.…

Biblical archaeologists such as William F. Albright and Albrecht Alt, possess the opinion that the patriarchs and matriarchs of the Old Testament were more than likely composites of people who lived during the time period of the 2000BC. Historians such as Thomas L. Thompson and John Van Seters challenge the accuracy of the biblical text, in fact, in their opinions the evidence of events and conditions that occurred as written in the Old Testament during the life of Abraham may have really occurred much later around…

Therefore, there are inconsistencies regarding the intended message of this occurrence. Moreover, as Barstad (2008:98) explains, the main purpose of the Bible is that it should not be read as a historical book, but rather be read as a narrative from different perspectives, suggesting that the interpretation of the Bible from an historic perspective fails to bring justice to the essence of these texts, thus disregarding the main intention of the texts (2008:101). However, the act of interpreting the ideology of the myth has persisted, modern critics have thus referred to archaeological evidence in order to diminish the belief of an empty land, thus indirectly degrading the facts and narratives of the Bible in its essence. Barstad contradicts himself as he ascribes the importance of reading the Bible as a narrative rather than a historical book (2008:98) but adds his doctrine of the archaeological interpretations of these texts in Blenkinsopp’s and Lipschits’ Judah and the Judeans in the neo-Babylonian period…

Now more than ever, the world is more closely connected through the nearly-instantaneous exchange of ideas and information. This exchange of ideas means that collaboration for the advancement of knowledge on a particular subject is possible and facilitates advancements in that field. On the other hand, having access to the abundance of contrasting ideas also means that people have more to think about and more they can argue about. One of said arguments is whether the Bible is really trustworthy. There are too many different beliefs about the Bible to list them all, but some of the main ones are that the Bible is the word of God and true and trustworthy, the Bible is just a book written by man and, therefore, vulnerable to the weaknesses of any human-written work and fallible, or that the Bible is mostly true but has some inaccuracies, thus casting doubt as to whether it is inspired by God.…

The Bible, the single greatest legacy of the Jews, has been translated into more than two thousand languages and is the most commonly read and significant body of literature in all of human history. The bible or what we call the Old Testament, which is the earliest and at the same time the most important of Jewish writing is the keystone of Jewish literature. It is written, for the most part, in Hebrew and extends over the period ending with the second century before the Common Era. It is most reliable and the fair reflection of the original characteristics of the Jewish people. “The biblical literature has given the closest attention of all nations and every stage.”…

The word Chronicles in Hebrew has the meaning of an ongoing account, almost like a journal or diary. Hamilton explains that these books are far more than just “gap fillers” to or a supplement to Kings (p. 477). While we are not sure exactly who is the author of these books (Jewish tradition ascribes Ezra)(p. 478), we do know that the “Chronicler” felt a need that the nation of Israel, returning from exile in Babylon, needed to reconnect with their identity as the people of God. This is accomplished by reminding them of their heritage and by directing them back to God’s presence in their midst as symbolized by the temple.…

Even though the predominant religion in the United States is Christianity, I am not surprised that the Holy Bible was one of the most challenged books in 2015. Recently, the percentage of Americans that identify as Protestant has been decreasing, which I was well aware of prior to discovering that the Bible was frequently challenged. Particularly, people of my generation are not as religiously devout as our parents’ generation are. Combined with the rise of Islam and the increased support of liberal policies that promote the freedom to live the life you want, it becomes easier to understand why the Bible’s viewpoints led it to be on the challenged list.…
