talk about the question of whether or not people are actually determined or free. The chapter begins with a situation and question to get the reader to ponder about their opinion. The question is, if two people are identical in every way possible and both are given the option to choose coffee or tea would they choose the same thing? If a person believes people to be determined, they would say that they would pick the same thing, but if a person thinks people are free, they will say that they will most likely say they can choose different drinks. To further introduce the outcomes of either being determined of free the authors give hypothetical situations of a world that is determined and what a world would be like if it were not determined. Towards the end of the chapter, the authors then say that it is hard for a person to justify that people are entirely determined of free because both have limitations, but it can be agreed that “natural order and human responsibility are the interwoven
