The text states that the pond cept Armie awake at night, ¨I Thought about the pond.¨(33). According to the text, “something other than basic survival.” (67). Armie was scared for his life. This text stresses that the pond taunted him and kept him awake at night, portraying his distressed character. The text also show that he was scared for his life. Therefore, the text demonstrates Armie’s distressed character throughout the book.
