The French to me are being mocked the most. Cause they say the most ridiculous things that make no sense. They are obsessed with animals and will use them as ammunition. When King Arthur and his group made a huge bunny to hold people inside and when the french see’s the rabbit, they will be inside the rabbit in the castle. Well that didn’t work.…
Where as I normally end up arguing against why a film should be considered a horror film, this time I'm going other way and argue why Lightning Bug is a Horror film. As I stated in Horror, My Definition, a Horror film is a film that used dread and horror, while trying to evoke negative emotions. Lightning Bug does that for me, upon first viewing I wasn't that impressed and disregarded is horror elements. Instead focusing on how its a Coming of Age Drama. But after viewing the film never really settled and has passed through my mind on several occasions and when I reflect on the film it's dark and haunting undertones that remain.…
John Travolta main character from ‘Welcome Back, Kotter’ and Olivia Newton-John singer of ‘Long Live Love’ from 1974 both starred in a romantic-comedy film, Grease. Also starred other famous actors including Stockard Channing who played Rizzo, Jeff Conaway who played Kenickie, Didi Conn who played Frenchie (one of the Pink Ladies), and Barry Pearl who played Doody (one of the T-Birds) This movie about young love was released in 1978. In Katie Walsh’s review of Batman v Superman, she clearly says how much she disliked the movie due to dull character personalities, lack of plot and a poorly executed final fight scene. She goes onto say how the “characters are as exciting as oatmeal.” (2.3) She explains how the characters lack any depth and how some characters seemed “miscast.” (2.4) Then with so many characters to follow there ends up being very little plot even with the movie being two and a half hours long. Basically the movie tried to do too much at one time.…

He did an amazing job I like his killings how he made them seem like accidents and how he made it seem like he was never in the scene. I like the explosions they were amazing especially the ending scene in the gas station. I like the fact that he performs his own stunts in all his movies. His way of fighting is spectacular. In the movie he is mysterious and few people know his name.…
Kramer vs. Kramer deserves a three star rating. The acting is one of the main reasons I give this film a three star rating. Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffmann did a great job at conveying the emotions their characters were feeling. When Meryl Streep’s character, Joanna, was putting her son, Billy, to bed, I felt as if she was the boy’s actual mother.…
Alright, this time nothing’s gonna stop me from this. Guess who was my first thought after I saw this task. Bingo! Heath Ledger’s Joker. For me, The Dark Knight is not just another ridiculous superhero story, like ‘Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice’*, but the whole philosophy behind.…
Authors have to employ various techniques in their writing to convey their message to the reader. However, comic book authors face an extra struggle. Having little text and few pages, they have to manipulate their images and the way the text appears to get their message across. The author of Batman the Dark Knight: Trapped by the Scarecrow portrays the complexity of the characters, the motives for their actions, and their similarity through his dark illustrations, frequency of text use, and use of repetition. The first technique the author employs is the use of dark images.…
In Media Studies, it is significant to state the difference between the narrative and story. According to K. R. Jennings (2015) “A story is a structured narrative. It has a beginning, middle and end. It typically contains other ingredients too, like characters and a plot.” Furthermore Jennings states that “a narrative, on the other hand, is a sequence of events.…
Nine years after his untimely death, we take a look back at Heath Ledger and his short but wildly successful acting career. As we approach what would have been the 37th birthday of Academy Award winner, Heath Ledger, we'd be remiss to ignore the fact that April 5th will also be the 23rd anniversary of the passing of Kurt Cobain; two giants of their respective crafts who left this world way too soon. Now nine years after the death of Ledger, we take a look back at his filmography and reflect on the magnificent career that was, and what could have become. At the age of 28, Heath Ledger was still a ways away from hitting his professional prime. Unfortunately, he was never able to celebrate the numerous accolades he'd receive for his portrayal…
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has certainly spawned several fan theories as to just what is happening in the film’s confusing (yet brilliantly shot) Knightmare sequence, where Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne sees a post-apocalyptic future filled with parademons, an evil Superman (Henry Cavill) as well as several hints on the impending arrival of Darkseid. However, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox helmer Jay Oliva has just stated that it may not have been a dream but a direct connection to his movie! Oliva recently spoke on the Hall of Justice Podcast, where he explained how Batman v Superman might have featured a “Time Boom.”…
The Dark Knight is a story about a well-known superhero, Batman, and his crime fighting adventures against villains, specifically, the Joker. There are a lot of different points in this movie that prove it really is an outstanding piece of art. Rotten Tomatoes, a website that gives a percentage rating based off of positive review ratings, gave The Dark Knight a 94 percent. There are a lot of things done well, like an interesting plot, well developed characters, thrilling scenes, and excellent actresses and actors. While there are a lot of things that were done right in the movie, there are still some things that were done wrong.…
In 2014, A lot of people were dying to watch this controversial, emotional, action packed film. The film received good feedback overall. American Sniper received a 7.3 on 10.0 scale on the rotten tomatoes website. With all of the good film reviews, these types…
