The Dark Knight Character Analysis

The dark knight is a movie about how one man thinks he can rid an entire city of criminals. With help from the police Chief Commissioner Gordon, as well as the new district attorney Harvey Dent, they start putting hundreds of criminals behind bars. Whilst this is going on a new criminal is unveiled known as the joker, a criminal the likes of which Gotham has never seen. He is much smarter, much dirtier than any other villain before him because unlike the others, he has no rules, he has no motive, and he does what he wants when he wants too. He always is two steps ahead of our protagonist and batman can seemingly never beat him to the punch. For example, when the mayor was giving his speech, batman was trying to find the joker in the window with a sniper rifle. What he finds is a scope pointed at the mayor instead and the joker is actually on the ground dressed as a solder shooting one of the guns at Commissioner Loeb’s funeral. For instance the joker is a psychopath, psychopaths are usually charming and manipulative joker is both of these things in volume. Psychopaths also don’t feel remorse joker lies to people to get what he wants and feels no sympathy for those he kills or of the families that are affected. An example of his lack of remorse is when he is about to blow up the two boats and he is watching them from on top of the building he is upset that they didn’t blow each other up. Finally, the last trait of a psychopath is they have a “socially deviant lifestyle” which means that he looks forward to crime, it’s his drug of choice. He seemingly has no other motives then just wanting to see the world burn. For example he had millions if not billions of dollars in front of him but instead of taking the money and leaving, he burns the money and kills his
