Vaccination Should Not Be Mandatory Essay

Vaccination had been one of the greatest achievements of our era. Eliminating life threatening diseases and making the world a better, healthier place. Even though it comes with side effects it has been proven to save many lives. Although for many people, vaccination is a routinely event, some parents disagree with the method and do not want to get their child vaccinated. This is an ongoing issue whether or not parents should have to get their kids vaccinated. Even though many parents are under the assumption that vaccination should not be mandatory it may very well make their child and many others sick leading to an epidemic.
As we know most parents want what 's best for their child and to keep them healthy so when making the choice whether to vaccinate their child or not it may be extremely difficult for one. They may have concerns about their child 's immune system or may not feel it 's necessary to get a vaccine for a disease you are likely not to get. Many parents are also nervous with the side effects the vaccination comes with. Just like you have to be immunized first before you go into the army, for kids, most schools and daycare facilities now do not let them go to school unless they have been immunized. Now in most states they have vaccination requirements. Different states require different vaccines to be able to attend school. In a study it shows that exemption rates low as 2 percent to 4 percent are at an increased risk for disease outbreaks. It has been suggested that parents must be forced to get their child vaccinated. Schools try to explain to the parents that everyone 's health in the school and around them is essentially everyone 's responsibility.
