Tobacco use is a major public health problem in the United States. In the United States, tobacco use is the single leading preventable cause of death, accounting for approximately 400,000 deaths each year (WHO, 2008). In order to decrease the rate of deaths caused by Tobacco use is the keeping the youth from ever starting. This paper seeks to explore how educating youth about the risks of tobacco use can decrease the rate of deaths in the next decade. Tobacco use seems to be more common among low socioeconomic adolescents who have less knowledge about the dangerous facts of all nicotine induced products. Tobacco use among youth are dangerous because it stops lungs to grow. Therefore, it will increase the risk of getting chronic bronchitis and emphysema at very early age. Parents or educational institutions should teach nation’s youth about nicotine addiction and the diseases caused by using tobacco products. Targeting youth will be a perfect way to stop the nicotine addiction and promoting of healthy lifestyle. In addition, Tobacco Industries aim on teens and promote attractive advertises in order to maintain a constant number of smokers over time. Applying five levels of Ecological models will help to control smoking behavior among adolescents. Decreasing the rate of new smokers has directly link to increasing the overall public health in the United States.
