Texting While Driving: The Leading Cause Of Accidents

Driving is a privilege. With the privilege of driving comes responsibility. It is a driver’s responsibility to be meticulous while driving at all times. A single driver that is selfish and inconsiderate of other drivers could cause in a tragedy. A terrible accident or even death can occur as a result. Injuries or death could be made to any passengers or to anyone involve in the accident or even stand by. There are many ways where a driver could be irresponsible, however there are two major factors that influence one’s ability to drive. The two factors are driving intoxicated, also known as diving under the influence, and texting while driving. Texting while driving is a bigger threat to the safety of everyone. Texting while driving is the” leading cause of death in teens” the number one factor of death for teenagers (DMV). Not only is it the major cause of death to teenagers, but it also is responsible for a majority of accidents that occur in the U.S. In the U.S. “8 people are killed and 1161 are injured daily….” (FCC). With the reoccurrence of these accidents and tragedies the awareness and concern should be very strong. Regardless of what age a person is there should be no reason why a driver cannot able to focus on the road. It is one’s responsibility to drive safety and to be concern for others.
