Phil was known locally as a great hunter and was sought after for hunting advice all the time. He also had went guest hunting with the television show Buck Commander. One day, Kay 's boss at the hardware store went hunting with Phil and tried one` of his calls. Phil said he had made that call himself. Kay 's boss asked if he would ever make calls for a living. Phil said he would be very interested, but did not have the money to start up such a business. Kay 's boss said go home make some calculations then come down to my office and we will talk. The next day Phil went down to the boss 's office and told him that it would cost $25,000 for all the equipment that he needed. Kay 's boss then gave Phil $25,000 dollars to start his business. Phil went down to the bank and cashed his check then went out and got all of the stuff, went home, and set it up. Once he made one prototype the family chipped in to help make and package all the calls. It was then that Phil’s kids knew that their dad was being serious about his company. The first year he he made a little over $8,000. With all the money he was making, they were able to go out and buy a new house next to the river. He is an example not because of his accomplishments, but because of how he lived his life through the highs and lows. His passion for his family, God, and duck hunting is what makes him a good guy. Early on in Phil’s life he probably would not have said that faith, family, and duck hunting were the most important things in life, but through many setbacks he turned his whole life around and got his priorities straight. That is what makes Phil Robertson an important figure in
