However, many people believe that consumers have the right to know if GMO’s are in their foods. Consumers want the right to to choose what they eat. Many people have safety concerns and are unsure if GMO’s have long termed effects. They feel that there is not enough research done to determine or prove that GMO’s are not harmful. We should be the ones in control, not the government to deny us our right to know. Many of these products have been genetically modified without any signs of illness in humans. To put it another way, consumers already have the answer they been looking for. Organic labels is the answer, organic labels is a way for consumers to recognize non- GMO products and stay away from them and only use natural products if they choose to do so. GMO foods have never been proven unsafe therefore the FDA ( Food and Drug Administration) does require companies or grocery stores to label them, as this may give the wrong information to consumers. In fact most of GMO foods products have actually proven to help society produce more nutrients foods which have help feed our families and the world without no side effects. All in all consumers just want GMO labels because they assume that GMO’s are unsafe and cause health
