The Unwanted While everybody sitting at home watching TV and scrolling through their Instagram’s and Facebooks living their mainstream life there are 140 million children in the world living in foster care. Foster care children are one of the most underrepresented minorities in the world and to make it even better these are children! When scrolling through social media or watching advertisement on TV we never see anything about the foster care system or the amount of children that are waiting for a permanent home. The TV show “The Unwanted” will show the ugliness and the truth behind the walls of a foster care house. When it comes to 140 million children in the world not having a home and not being in a stable situation this causes extreme problems. Foster Care Club gives statistics about foster care children from the years of 2012-2014 explaining all the positive and negative things that foster children go through and get out of the system, “1 out of 4 foster children will experience PTSD in their lifetime” (Foster Club). If one out of four foster children experience PTSD this means that 35,000,000 of the population of foster kids will experience this in the world. With so many children in the world being in the foster care system shouldn’t the media try to inform people about their situations so we all could try to make a difference in these kids’ lives.
