A double-bladed axe, a pair of broken glasses, and a father and a son, this is a story about the dangers of conflicts. In the story "Scars" written by Don Aker, is where a son will learn the love of his father that is expressed in a completely different way. The father’s love for his son Daniel was one that the son cannot understand. However, the father’s optimism about whatever happens, his hardworking actions, and the love of his family proves that he is a father who cares about the family members around him.

First of all, Daniel’s father is also very optimistic about people and things around him, even when the situation is very grave. For example, the story explained that when the father is working on the old cars, he “coaxed, manipulated, or threaten tired parts back into operation.” This proves that the father is very optimistic about the vehicles being refurbished and believes that he can exceed. No matter what conditions the cars were, the father will only “stop when the job was finished.” Even when the weather is against him, he still worked. The father also spends his time to get his son involved in what he is doing as well. He asks Daniel to help him, even though his son is not very capable of what he is doing. Finally, his father can still work when there is massive emotional pressure. The day after Daniel’s brother, the eldest son of the family died, everyone was not able to do anything excepted the father. He still went outside to change the oil of a car while his family was grieving. The above can conclude that the father works no matter how hard or how big a job

The other, in great contrast, follows the story of an American co-pilot, Captain Robert Lewis, who was aboard the Enola Gay, a US Air Force B-29, that carried the first operational atom bomb. Throughout the narrative, the author switches back and forth between these two accounts which creates situational irony as the reader experiences both sides of the story, however, the two characters remain unaware of each other.…

“Luke Spencer praises Harrison’s ‘uncompromising intervention in the politics of the 1980s’ and notes the poem’s ‘willingness to take risks in dramatizing a cultural crisis and imagining its solution”4 The skinheads are the result of these chaotic, faulty political and sociological failures. The skinheads are the victims of an industrial society who deprives its members of equal opportunities of an economical development. They are the representative of the working class and a failed economical system to provide employment opportunities.
