In the winter many living organisms die through the food chain or it is just the cycle of life. When the frost begins to melt the warmth of the sun coaxes everything back to life. Spring opens a door for the birds to start chirping and animals to come back into the habitat. Slowly everything returns to normal and a new, fresh start begins. The economy was bursting with new inventions and improvements through the 1920’s, “The 1920’s was also a time of prosperity for many Americans”(‘Inventions in the 1920’s’). The tone of the quotation envelops the idea that America at this time was rapidly growing and there was new ideas that flooded the time period. The women during this time period were finally able to vote and were able to maintain white collar jobs and were able to finally participate in the booming economy. (“The Roaring Twenties”). Before women were just supposed to sit at home and wait for their husband to come home from work. They were only supposed to cook food, clean, make clothes and have children. They were a slave to societal standards, they were unable to be anything more than what they were already. In the 1920’s they were able to get that chance to take a hold on their own lives. It can be inferred that the women took a step forward and they will keep on fighting for their rights. This shows that women's rights took a gigantic step forward and they keep on progressing through this time period and on. Another example of the progression of Women’s Rights is in The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald uses a powerful woman to showcase the advancements in culture. When Nick is explaining where he remembers Jordan from he says, “Its pleasing contemptuous expression had looked out at me from many rotogravure pictures of the sporting life” (Fitzgerald 18). This is a large accomplishment in this time period because
