Strangers now from every part of the world are able to communicate with one another is remarkable, the world seemingly not so small anymore. To catch a predator is an American reality television series that features hidden camera investigations by the television newsmagazine program Dateline NBC. It was devoted to impersonating underage people and detaining male adults who contacted them over the Internet for sexual liaisons. People were lured to meet with a decoy under the pretense of sexual contact and then confronted (Adler).
The series began in 2004, the show consist of a general script. First the decoy, usually a young woman named Dell who works for prevented justice, answers the door for the predator, invites him in, then quickly excuses herself and disappears, the show’s host Chris Hansen then casually strolls in. The predator alarmed usually assumes that Hansen is an undercover cop or Dells father. As Hansen is starting the questioning process, the predator usually insists that he had no intention to act out his online fantasies. This prompts Hanson to go on the attack, Hanson reads back in painstaking, salacious detail the predators sexual chat log with the decoy. The recitation of the sordid chat log goes on to the point where the predator literary begs for mercy, sometimes sobbing, reduced to his knees, pleading with Hanson to please, please stop
