The most common superstition is the Scottish Curse, also known as The Curse of Macbeth. The curse believes that if the word Macbeth is spoken inside of a theater, it will bring bad luck. Macbeth is prone to various tragedies and incidents in the past. This includes someone accidentally getting stabbed with a real dagger, riots, and actors mysteriously dying before shows (Schumm). There are also many questions revolving around whether or not he had the knowledge about the things he wrote. Since Shakespeare grew up in a poor family with limited education, how did he know so much about the wealthy lifestyle?
