From the past to present, people everywhere get married and are determined to work together throughout their lifetime, Nevertheless, some couples are incapable to continue with their relationship; therefore they choose divorce, which is a solutions to cope with problems between husband and wife. Alongside divorce, families seem to struggle with the many disadvantages and complications that come it. “From 1958 to 1979, divorce rates increased rapidly and consistently. In the early 1980’s, rates remained steady, but at a relatively high level. Only in the last few years, we have seen a slight decline. The current reality of North America marriages still is; however, that an estimated 40 percent of them end in divorce, and that close to 50 per cent of North America children experience parental divorce before the age of 18” (Ovwerkerk). One of the most important things for families to understand is that divorce affects all children differently, depending on their gender, age, and stage of development. Also children who grow up with divorced parents have a harder time in the long run. There are many causes of divorce, three big leading causes are: basic incompatibility, infidelity, and money issues. These three causes provide information on why “Many couples lack the communication skills necessary to navigate financial disagreements in their marriage.
