Abortion: Murder Or Murder?

Decent Essays
Abortion: Murder? In modern times, more people are trying to justify their wrongs as rights. Nobody wants to take the blame for doing something that is clearly morbid. The government also tries to help people out by saying that it is okay now to do certain things. One of those things is abortion. It is one of the most common medical procedures today. Some say that the fetus is just a blob of tissues, but others are proving that a baby is living even when in the womb. When a woman becomes pregnant, one of the first things that happens when she goes to her doctor is an ultrasound. This confirms that the woman is going to be a mother and shows the future mama how her baby is developing. An ultrasound also shows how the baby is growing and …show more content…

The government was not completely heartless. Since then, people have viewed it as merely a convenience rather than a need. Before abortion was legal, it was a word everyone feared. Government has changed its ideals to accommodate the needs of men and women who are making the wrong decision. Instead of allowing abortions, the government should provide classes to educate men and women on abstinence, safe sex, and …show more content…
Either the woman is unfertile, or the man is sterile. All they want to do is have a baby, and they cannot. While one couple has been trying for years, another woman kills her baby. If she would have given birth to the baby, then the couple would have happily adopted him or her. In the United States, there are more abortions than adoptions. There are multiple couples waiting to adopt who can’t because everyone that gets pregnant and does not want their child aborts the baby. Many families wanting to adopt will actually help pay the mother’s pregnancy expenses (American Adoptions). With the couple so willing, it is unfair to them who are married and trying so hard that someone can just kill and throw away their child because they do not want a

Fostering a child can be challenging for most women including having to pay and watch for them. In an article about psychology today, “Many parents are spread way too thin, and they suffer by missing sleep, not having time for exercise, and having neglected marriages that end in divorce” (Doc A). Pregnancies can be very stressful for both partners of the relationship. Also, if the woman is a student, she may not be able to provide for the baby and perform well in school. Abortion can be a touchy subject that people argue the fact over if it's right and legal or wrong and should be illegal. Some people feel that abortion is not murder, but there are studies shown that abortion is murder. Although it is the mother’s choice on whether she wants to keep the baby or not, she should think clearly about all of her options. Not only does she need to think about all of her options, but she should realize that this was her actions which had nothing to do with the unborn baby.…

Mark Ruffalo once said, “There was no mistake in us making abortion legal and available on demand. That was what we call progress. Just like it was no mistake that we abolished institutional racism in this country around the same time.” We have came a long way since the 1973 Roe vs. Wade court case which ruled abortions legal, but there is still a lot of nationwide discourse on the subject. America as a country made the vote to legalize abortion more than four decades ago for many reasons such as overpopulation, the mother's well being, and for the fact that the decision should be left to woman carrying the child.…

Prompt 2: The Supreme Court is not an effective, counter-majoritarian protector of the rights of oppressed minority populations in society when fundamental rights are at stake. However, rather than serving as an end-all-be-all and strict law of the land, the court’s decisions have often taken a considerable amount of time to enforce and come into place. Rather than being a protector of the rights, it is wiser to look at the court as an impetus for change. This is not to undermine the extraordinary power that the court has, but instead look at their power from a different angle.…
