The word maverick means, an unorthodox or independent-minded person. To be a Maverick you might think differently than other people, or do things that no one would expect. Guy Montag From Fahrenheit 451 showed us that being a Maverick means saving something that makes you happy, and not caring about what society thinks. He showed us that just because everyone thinks the same, doesn't mean that what they are thinking is right. Christopher Boone from The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time showed us that being a Maverick means taking chances and doing things that you are not used to. Both of these characters were brave but one character had more success than the other in being an individual in society. In this character's case it was stepping out of his comfort zone.

Most people would feel lonely having a dream like this, but to Christopher his dreams are the only place where he can truly be himself.
