My mother has received government aid ever since I was a very small child. She goes to work everyday and takes care of three kids, including myself, and my disabled (deaf-blind) sister, yet her wages make it completely impossible to for her to live without aid from the government. She has a highschool degree and a college degree, but she works for eleven dollars an hour.
The common misconception of Americans is that every person who receives welfare of food stamps sits at home and does nothing to get off of those subsidies, yet the majority of people do not want to live within those conditions. George Wilson, from the Great Gatsby, did not want to live in the Valley of Ashes for his entire life. He wished to become wealthy like Tom Buchanan and Gatsby, but he did not have the opportunities like either of them. Also this will cause a better economy, since people have more money to spend. Passing laws that help your citizens, does a lot for your country and yourself, in the public eye.
America’s greatness has been limited for some years. Although number of homeless have dropped throughout the years, there are still over a million people who have to sleep on the street, or in a homeless shelter at night. Many of which are children, or full families. Allowing these people to be criminalized and dehumanized in unjust, and unconstitutional. Instead of incriminating them, we should be pushing them and helping them to jump back into the mainstream of wealth.
Struggling individuals should not be made out to be thieves of the United States government. People truly need help, and should not be slandered for their needs. Instead of pulling ourselves apart at the seams, we need to put ourselves back to together and create a unity amongst ourselves. The need for peace and love within our country is amazingly needed. If everybody simply tried to understand each other’s issues, and love one another we would have a better situation on our
