Beowulf displays the characteristics of a literary epic and symbolizes the cultural traits of an Anglo-Saxon hero by the hero’s acts determine the fate of a nation or a group of people. The poem displays this trait by using lines 827-832. With using lines 827-832 it gives one the trait of the hero’s acts determining the fate of a nation. It does this by telling us how Beowulf healed and relieved much distress. He sewed up the big affiliation and changed the nation's fate by defeating Grendel. Beowulf also displays the trait of courage and physical strength. He displays these traits by using lines 745-752. With using lines 745-752 Beowulf shows much courage by standing up to Grendel and battling him while no one else would. He put Grendel
