Qatar Petroleum(QP) is a petroleum state company in Qatar. The organization operates all gas and oil activities in Qatar, including investigation, production, refining, transport and storage capacity. QP’s administrator is Mohamed Bin Saleh Al-Sada. Minister of energy and industry, and managing head is Saad Sherida Al Kaabi. QP’s operations are linked with planning organizations in state, managerial authorities, and organizations of policymaking. Entirely, profits from oil and natural gas is 60% of the country’s gross domestic product. Presently, QP is the third largest oil company in the world according to gas and oil reserves.

1.1.5 DORIC: drilling Operations Incident Review committee, meetings are done every six months under chairmanship of QP. It involves all the oil companies, contactors of drills and drilling service companies in Qatar.
1.1.6 EPSA/DPSA: exploration and production sharing agreements (EPSA) and Development and production sharing agreement (DPSA), are the agreements on which QP depends upon to manage hydrocarbon exploration and development with international oil and gas companies.

1.2 Research and technology
The research and technology department in Qatar petroleum was set up in 2009, to plan and execute needs for existing/new business opportunities, lead and support initiatives toward gaining new knowledge that will enhance the technical capabilities.
The QP’s Research & Technology Center (QPRTC) focuses on the following main QP operational research areas:

• Downstream

The workshop was concerned about the safety engineering rules within the field.
HSE workshop included Basic firefighting, electrical safety, safe plant maintenance and first aid tips. At the end of the workshop I was given the access card to allow entering the field and ensure that I was familiarized with all the precautions that engineers have to know at the field.

2.4.1.1 IEC standard
Most of the documents that I was exposed to depended on IEC standards.
IEC is the international electronical commission. It was founded in 1906, non-profit organization, its leading the world’s electrotechnology, meaning, all electrical, electronic related technologies.
It prepares and publishes international standards for electronic related technologies.
In Qatar petroleum the specifications followed is the design and engineering practice (DEP) Shell group of company’s specifications under the IEC standards CHAPTER THREE: PROFESSIONAL
