If you have sex you are shamed. If you’re gay, lesbian, transgender, etc. you are shunned. Are we allowed to express who we are? Will the labels ever go away? Well, the simple answer to these questions is no. According to Jessica Valenti’s article “The Cult of Virginity” (2009) there is no medical definition of virginity, but society’s definition of virginity is a view of sex that is restricted between a man and a women.
