gnorance is not an acceptable excuse for using a racial slur in describing someone because people shouldn’t use a word that they have no idea what it means. For example, if someone says, “The crust has crestfallen because it fell apart.” This makes no sense because crestfallen means sad and disappointed and doesn’t refer to a crust whatsoever. Another example would be if a non-Caucasian teacher were to refer to a Caucasian student as a “cracker” and didn’t know what it meant, but only used it because that’s what their student had been calling them, it wouldn’t be acceptable.
