Abigail Williams takes a mayor part in The Crucibles as her character is driven down to be the main antagonist of the plot. Abigail’s character would be noted as the least complex, compared to the rest of the characters in the play. She is clearly driven by revenge towards anyone that stands on her path to fame.
Much like her uncle, Mr. Parris, minister of the Salem church, a very peculiar man, compared to any other man in the town if Salem. Such a churlish and insubordinate man, all unique traits which perhaps rubbed off on Abigail.

Once fired by Elizabeth Proctor, Abigail Williams was given so little choice as to what she could do as her reputation in the town of Salem had been ruined due to the fact that Elizabeth was such a known person around the town, been fired by her caused everyone to question why.
Once shunned by the entire town, Abigail did as much as she could to fix her reputation, by doing so; she was left with one final option. The day came as Abigail went off to persuade Tituba, a young black slave from Barbados, to go out and conjure spirits for her own selfish doings. One detail that should be noticed about Abigail’s past that gives us a clue as to where her mercilessness might of came from, would be her younger years; Abigail Williams watched both of her parents be brutally murdered. She says so herself in the first act of the Crucibles as she threatens the younger girls by warning them that she is as ruthless as the men that killed her parents, “I saw Indians smash my dear parents head on the pillow next to mine” (Pg.119). It’s no surprise as to why such a person, such as Abigail Williams, whom witnessed such brutality at such a young age, eventually acted brutally
