The Crucible is a play that was wrote in 1952 by Arthur Miller. The Crucible is set during the Salem Witch Trials which lasted about a year. Twenty people were executed for witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials. During the play, a young girl was caught dancing in the woods. Instead of owning up to the fact that she was dancing in the woods, which during the Puritan time was considered illegal, she blamed her dancing in the woods on some of the older women by saying they casted a spell on her.
The problem that occurred during the Crucible still happens today. Many teenage girls lie. In 2007, a Muslim taxi cab driver was accused of raping a 16 year old girl that was drunk. His life that he knew before the adolescent cried wolf, was ruined.
