Prompt: The world has experienced many times when fear overcomes reasoning. What text-to-world connections can you think of?

Bullying and taunting are examples of fear overcoming reason in our culture and our communities. When a bully picks on someone and no one speaks up, the can end up approving of the actions taking place. One of the main bullies in the Crucible is named Abigail Williams, a young women in Salem. She first lies to accuse Tituba of doing witchcraft regularly and claiming she was forced to go into the forest and dance, lying and preying on the outcast of the village.

Sometimes others will join in and the bullying and taunting. If one individual had said something from the beginning, maybe the bullying
