And the main antagonists in the play, getting everything started in the town. Such as, threatening the girls by saying, “ Let either of you breathe a word,... I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you.” ( Act 1 - 1107). This quotation is significant because it shows what Abigail will do to the girls if they say other things that happened, other than dancing in the woods that night. This proves my topic sentence and thesis because now Abigail will hurt them if they tell the truth. Nevertheless, Abigail also made Elizabeth seem like she does voodoo. In court Mary Warren had made a poppet for Elizabeth as a gift; while Abigail was sitting next to her. Then, she had an idea. During dinner she was hurt real bad. Therefore, Danforth and the others go to the Proctor’s home. And he says , “ Abigail were stabbed tonight; a needle were found stuck into her belly; “ And she charges me?” , said by Elizabeth Proctor (Act 2 - pg.1133). This quotation is significant because here Abigail wants to get Elizabeth involved in all the mess that has happened. This proves my topic sentence and thesis because now Abigail knows that Elizabeth will be affected by this …show more content…
Now in order to, do this John had to confess the affair he had with Abigail Williams, there old servant. And have proof of how the girls were frauds. Therefore, he brings Mary Warren to the court as his witness, but Mary refused to go and John says, “ You’re coming to the court with me, Mary. You will tell it in court.” (Act 2 - pg. 1134). This quotation is significant because John wants Danforth and the court to hear from a witness that they are really frauds. This proves my topic sentence and thesis because now John is tired of the town believing little young girls instead of the grown ups in town. Despite, everything that has happened John confesses to witchcraft and writes it out on a document. But when he gives it back to the court they said this will be posted on the post in the town for everyone to see. And John starts to scream and get mad. He says , “ Because it’s my name! Because I cannot have another in my life! Because I lied and sign myself to lies.” (Act 4 - pg. 1164). This quotation is significant because John wants to keep his reputation that he has in the town. And keep his good name. This proves my topic sentence and thesis because John wants the court to know that he or his friends will stop believing in what they

In The Crucible by Arthur Miller, Abigail Williams is the most despicable character because she runs away from taking responsibility of starting Salem’s witchcraft frenzy, acts irrationally due to jealousy, and she lies about other people committing heinous crimes.…
