The Crucible, by Arthur Miller is a place in which concentrated forces interact to cause or influence change of development , it is fixated on the Salem witch trials. Although the witch trials is the main aspect of the play , other topics should be looked upon as well. For example two characters in the book, John and Elizabeth Proctor. John and Elizabeth Proctor are a married couple going through a lot of difficulties on their commitment to each other. In Act I, Elizabeth is not present, although Abigail brings up her name only because she is having an affair with John Proctor.
