Who is to blame? In Arthur miller’s the crucible, Abigail is most to blame for the Salem witch trials. In Salem, Massachusetts during 1602, witchcraft was like the major sin in the north. Many were accused mostly women. Because of Abigail’s character flaws dishonesty, lust, and jealousy she is the most responsible for Salem witch trials. Abigail loves John Proctor she lusts for him. She loves grabbing him, talking to him, and her face lights up with excitement she sees him something like a blush. In the Crucible Abigail said “John I am waitin’ for you every night” (miller 23). This shows she really lusts for John proctor and she really wants John to get with her and give her sex. Abigail is craving for John proctor to be hers. She also quotes, “Give me a word, John. A soft word” (miller 22). Abigail is looking for John to tell her something sweet in here ear. She is basically looking for John to say he wants her back.
