Matt. 5: 40-45
Jesus talks about loving your enemy, those that hate you, use you, or persecute you.
No matter what happens don’t hate those around you, they are children of God just like you are. I like the way he starts off these verses. Usually when someone is taking something from you, you don’t love them for it. Instead, he says if they, “Sue you and take your coat, then give them your cloak also”. (Matt. 5: 40) From this single point he has made, Christ teaches me so much, I was so selfish, anyone that used anything of mine or took anything I hated them. I have had family and very close friends that are addicted or have done things that ended them in prison. When you look at their life, they didn’t shoot someone just because they wanted to, they started stealing candy when they were eight, then later they stole a BB gun. Slowly digressing, slowly drifting off the path, slowly changing their lives, and all because of a little darkness. The scriptures tell that even all the darkness in the world gives way to the light of a single candle. I have seen one of my good friends that were in prison, he turned his life around, he got baptized. Asking the question if someone asks for something to eat would you give him something inedible, or would you give him that what he asks for? Would you completely ignore what those you love are seeking for? I know I probably don’t get the same out of verses that someone else gets, but I understand when things apply to me. We ask our heavenly father for blessings, forgiveness, and thank him for the things in life. If we kneel before our heavenly father and ask for help on a test, or help with some random thing, and instead of giving us what we asked for but instead gives us a stuffed animal, what use is it. I know if I was never listened to, I would quit talking, I wouldn’t pray, it isn’t doing any
