Reverend Parris- Reverend Parris is the reverend of Salem, whose daughter is known to be bewitched while being involved in the bonfire incident with other girls from the village. Throughout the play, Reverend Parris is not a very powerful character since many people from the community do not seem to like him. Reverend Parris cares a lot about his reputation and seems to be influenced by others’ opinions.
5. Mary Warren- At first, Mary Warren was seen as a nervous, scared girl, who was involved in the bonfire incident with the other girls. She is known to be the house servant of John and Elizabeth Proctor. However, after the village developed a court, Mary Warren was one of the officials for the court and gained power. For instance, when Elizabeth Proctor was accused of witchcraft, Mary Warren stated that there was no suspicion of Goody Proctor being involved in witchcraft and the court believed Mary Warren and dropped the accusation.
6. Tituba- Tituba is Reverend Parris’s slave and was accused of being the leader of the campfire incident. She is forced to save her life by admitting to witchcraft and even though she does not like the accusations occurring about the town, she blames other people of witchcraft.
