Literary Analysis Rough Draft The Crucible is a fascinating text written by Arthur Miller. The text flowingly connects the impeccable and extreme similarity between the Red Scare (the time the text was written) and the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. The author is also indirectly referencing the Patriot Act, which was placed into implementation in 2001. Miller’s portrayal of each individual character and comparison with their 1950’s counterpart is almost unignorably prevalent throughout the entire play.
