She is a young, beautiful, smart, selfish and an incredible liar who is a grand part of the reason of all the mess that is happening in the play. She causes all the hysteria and triggers the cycles of one another not trusting anyone. She was a house servant to the Proctors, but after Elizabeth Procter found out that Abby was having an affair with her husband she kicked her out and still refused to see her. Abigail is one of the most hated characters as the story progresses.
