Honesty is the best policy. We hear this phrase throughout our lives. Parents, teachers, mentors, and others tell us that when we or others around us get caught in a lie. We are taught that we shouldn’t lie. Lying to get out of trouble will just get you into more trouble down the line, meaning if we lie, no matter how good we think we are at lying, we will eventually get caught somehow. The Crucible is a play written about the Salem Witch Trials, a time full of lies upon lies upon lies. This play shows that honesty is the best policy.
