The Crucible is a melodrama play written in 1953 by Arthur Miller. The author displayed political theme, such as individual versus authority, corruption, conflict, fear, mass hysteria and integrity in the Crucible play. In the play, the author demonstrated how the law and regulation play out in reality. Also, fear and hysteria were the dominant parts of the play. People were fear the accusation of witchcraft. These connected with suspicion and the collapse of normal social values, which community can no longer defend itself or protect individuals who were innocent.
