Throughout the video, the men use comedic pauses when they are subjected to situations they find embarrassing, displaying how desperate the men are to find justice against the so called ‘cruel nature’ of their wives which then leads to narration stating “If you or someone you know is an instagram husband…”, and both of these examples display the direct nature in which the men in this video are displaying their political motivations. The use of the fake website, “instagramhusband.com”, displays how SmallPoppy has used satire to address a semi-serious issue while also creating a mock support network for these men showing how justice is always favoured, regardless of the seriousness of the issue or how justice is …show more content…
When Proctor addresses Elizabeth and says “Then how do you charge me with such a promise? The promise that a stallion gives a mare I gave that girl!”, Miller uses this metaphor to display how although Proctor believes he has done right and how he is protecting his reputation, he is doing it in such a way that he loses power and control, which is something he desires to keep. In Elizabeth’s hopeless attempt to save Proctor’s reputation, she begrudgingly states “My husband...is a goodly man,sir.” when under trial and Mill uses this to foreshadow how reputation is often more important than justice in the play and how Elizabeth continues to strive for control, showing to the audience her real motives. In Proctor’s famous speech where he exclaims “Because it is my name! Because I cannot have another in my life!”, Miller uses these statements to display how extremely important it was to have a good reputation in the town of Salem while also showing how hard Proctor will fight over control of the situation he’s in and how this is his ultimate goal while the events of the text are taking
