His affair is one of the main factors in which drives the entire story. If he had not had an affair, Abigail would not be seeking revenge on he and his wife, he would not be a lecher, his wife would not be jailed, and his children would have their parents. His internals conflict mixes with the external conflict, the witch hysteria. The witch hysteria is caused by Abigail seeking revenge accusing innocent people of witchcraft. It concerns my mental health and my religious family. Throughout my entire life, I have experienced auditory and visual hallucinations. Recently, my parents were led to believe that it was demons or angry spirits that I had conjured and was communicating with. My mother called countless pastors and had them speak with me, she even considered an exorcism. I truly felt like the accused. My parents fully believed that I was possessed. It went on for a while until my mother finally got me psychological help. With the help of a psychiatrist it was found to be a schizo related bipolar disorder. Ending the hysteria, or so I thought. Much like when Proctor got he judges on his side and then it backfired. The suspicions still continue today even with the decrease of hallucinations.
