devious child. Abigail is the exact opposite of Elizabeth. Abigail represents the repressed desires
sexual and material that all of the adults possess. The difference is that Abigail does not suppress
her desires. She finds herself attracted to Proctor while working in the Proctor home,, Abigail's
attraction to Proctor commits a sin, but one that she could repent of and refuse to acknowledge.

Wife of John Proctor. She is a decent and honest woman, who dismissed Abigail because of her
affair with John Proctor.Elizabeth is good. She's moral. She's upright. She's composed. And she's

negative ones. She is a decent woman who is steadfast and true but these traits also make her a bit
