Salem Witch Trials : Abigail Williams There were people getting hanged for witchcraft in the town of Salem. There has been over 20 people getting sentenced to death because of witchcraft. There is a group of girls pretending that they are bewitched and they are blaming people they do not like for witchcraft. They have been going through the whole town and picking out people they do not like and the people have no chance to survive unless they confess themselves to witchcraft. This all happened in 1693 in Salem , Massachusetts. All the hysteria and madness in Salem is being caused by a girl named Abigail Williams.
Abigail’s madness all started with her dancing around a fire in the forest. When Abigail was at the fire she was dancing around with all the other girls who are acting like they were bewitched. The leader of this fire was Tituba, she is Reverend Parris’s slave. She was leading the fire, then Abigail showed that she had a live chicken. Abigail then broke the chicken's neck and drank its blood (1104). This is where all her madness started. This is how all the girls started acting like witches. Abigail is not a normal girl she drank chicken blood and this is just the start of her going mad. …show more content…
John Proctor is a rich man that owns a farm in town. He rarely goes to church and he's a secretive guy. He is married and has a couple of kids. John Proctor and Abigail Williams had an affair going on for awhile. John cut their affair off. Abigail was not happy about this and she tried everything to get back together with John. Abigail was their servant at John's home but she had to stop because she kept coming onto John. Because this happened Abigail has gotten even more mad and because now she is bewitched she tries to get John's wife killed for witchcraft. Because of this affair Abigail has gotten even more
