The Crossbow: Simple Weapon Used During The Middle Ages

While there were many different weapons that were used during Medieval times, the crossbow may seem like a simple weapon at first, but was more than just simple weapon, up close. One reason that the crossbow seemed simple was because of the way which it looked. The crossbow had a long wooden stock, which was about two to three feet in length. The “bow” part of the crossbow was attached to the front part of the stock. Right in back of the “bow” was the bolt, or medieval arrow of the crossbow section. Below the stock was a lever-type trigger. Also, a second reason that the crossbow seemed simple was that the crossbow was made of many parts, which can be overlooked.
